RECALL: Honda & Acura Risk Of Engine Stall, Power Loss

recall

This is a pretty serious recall for over 295,000 Honda and Acura vehicles.

Vehicles Recalled• Acura MDX Type-S SUVs manufactured between April 23, 2021, and Dec. 11, 2024.• Acura TLX Type-S sedans manufactured between Dec. 9, 2020, and Nov. 25, 2024.• Honda Pilot SUVs manufactured between Sept. 13, 2022, and Jan. 9, 2025.

The problem: Faulty software programming of the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) can cause the engine to lose power or stall while the vehicle is in motion.

The fix: Dealerships will update the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Owners who already paid for a related repair may be eligible for reimbursement from Acura or Honda.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Honda at 888-234-2138.

NHTSA campaign number: 25V031. Acura and Honda’s own numbers for this recall are EL1 and AL0.
