Real ID To Be Enforced Beginning In May: Real ID is finally taking full effect. After a few false starts, starting May 7th, anyone over the age of 18 looking to board a domestic flight or enter certain secure federal facilities will need to have a Real ID. Not having a Real ID will not affect your ability to drive as long as your state-issued driver’s license is valid, but you won’t be able to fly without one. To check if you have a Real ID, look for a star at the top of your ID.
