Backstage With Bobby

Backstage With Bobby

Think the best stories happen on stage? Not even close. “Backstage with Bobby” takes you behind the curtain... hotel lobbies, late-night bars, even Miami coffee shops, where Bobby Mitchell chats up rock stars, celebs, and local legends. Sometimes awkward, always hilarious.

Backstage With Footy

I share with a heavy heart the passing of John J. Kross, Jr., lovingly known to so many of us as “Footy.” For more than 50 years, Footy devoted his life to leading Here’s Help, a place offering people hope, healing, and a second chance at life. For 10 of those years he was my partner on air. I'm grateful that with my return to South Florida two years ago I was able to spend time with Footy and share old memories together - his passing came as a complete shock. This episode features a few segments from when we woke South Florida up; I hope they'll brighten your day and spark a moment of "oh, hey - I remember that!" Rest in peace.

Backstage with Billy Joel and Huey Lewis

Bobby & Billy Joel share the same birthdate (May 9). Did they talk about that? No. They also (most certainly) did NOT talk about Christie Brinkley. Or did they? Plus, Huey Lewis has a hot take on those who tried to reimagine We Are The World.

Backstage With Ernest Hemmingway

Years ago, Bobby sent a radio station promo kid (Mike Van Driver the 3rd) to Key West to see if he could snag an interview with Ernest Hemingway. Hilarity ensued. In this episode, Bobby travels back to our southernmost tip to watch a sunset at Mallory Square, visit Hemingway House & Sloppy Joe's and relive the story with Mike. By the way, there are also shocking stories about Goldie Hawn, Sly Stallone and Kurt Russell. So get barefoot, enjoy a rum drink and before you know it, you'll be hearing a rooster crow!
